Great Compression
The compression is excellent. Although the original app would only replace the source image, the current version allows a separate copy. My examination at the pixel level showed the compression to not introduce any new artifacts or distortion. However, it is clear that at the pixel level, things have changed. Generally the change is such that the jpg-file should not be used for any further editing, because changes of changes can get introduced in a way that can make the artifacts easily detectable. One should always keep the original file around if further editing is a possibility.
The only reason I did not give the app 5 stars is that I create giant jpg-files that exceed the 28-megabyte limit, and I would prefer that the app be able to deal with at least 128-megabyte files.
