Crashes When Changing Preferences - every time

Using OS 10.7.5 this program immediately crashes every time I try to change the Preferences so as to write files to a user folder without overwriting the original file. Attempts to report the bug on their support site insists that I register with them on their "Get Satisfaction" site. Bah-humbug. They should not make it so difficult to report a problem or insist that I register with them to report an issue. Would not even consider the paid-for version until they address this issue. Heck, not overwriting the original file should be the default behavior, even if they are confident that the final image is as good as the original (which I am not so confident).
